Leonard Cohen has died

Because 2016 just couldn’t get any worse, Leonard Cohen has reportedly died. He was 82.

Details are sparse, if not entirely unknown, but the news was broken earlier this evening on Cohen’s Facebook page. Cohen reportedly died earlier in the week, on November 7th.

At 82-years-young, Cohen was one of Canada’s – no, the world’s – most revered artists. A poet, songwriter and national treasure, this is a loss that we’ll be feeling for a while.

Just last month, Cohen had said, perhaps in jest, that he was ready to die. We weren’t ready then, and we aren’t ready now, but because this is seemingly how things are going to go this year, we’re going to bed mourning yet another legend.
