Spotify teams up with Tinder, giving would-be partners even more to judge you on.

Back in the Stone Age of the pre-2010s, you typically had to wait until the first date to tediously describe your ‘completely unique’ music taste as a stand-in for, y’know, actually having a personality. Well, don’t worry, technology’s come to the rescue once again: major music streaming platform and fake artist factory Spotify has teamed up with major regret factory Tinder.

All Tinder casual sex enthusiasts users, even those without Spotify accounts, are now able to choose and display a personal ‘anthem’ through their Tinder page, which swipers can click on and preview. Oh man, now I gotta spend ages to curate a specific song to attract dates like some kind of fucking smartphone-using bird? Oh well, I’ll just go with “The Hive” by Melt-Banana, that oughta weed out the squares who aren’t on my level. *Waits approximately 18 months for a match*

Those lucky Tinderers with paid Spotify accounts can sync them to their profile to show off their favourite artists, which admittedly is quite the time-saving measure when it comes to dating. You mean I no longer have to waste a night out to find out my date doesn’t appreciate the impeccably-produced majesty of Celebrate Me Home? Where do I sign up?
