The latest video from Ontario punks Dead Broke is as unforgiving as their music.

If it looks like Dead Broke’s Michael Bright is having a rough time in “Unlovable,” it’s because he is.

Beaten and bloodied, the Nicole Powell directed video (which we’re proud to premiere below) sees the Dead Broke frontman pulled, punched and dragged into a back alley garage, and while the story’s end results are left open ended (if… ominous), the results were felt for weeks.

“Not sure if it was the waterboarding with whiskey or all the dirty hands on my face but it resulted in some sort of chronic eye infections that lasted 6 weeks of our summer North American tour,” said Bright about the video.

He described the clip as him “essentially getting [his] ass kicked and dragged around for the 6 or so hours of the shoot,” but we think he, and the rest of Dead Broke, have to be happy with the results.

Visceral, tense and a little unkempt, “Unlovable” is the perfect pairing for Dead Broke’s razor sharp punk sound.

Look for their new EP in early 2017. It remains as-of-yet untitled, but with production credits from Crispin Day (July Talk) and Jon Drew (Alexisonfire, Fucked Up), we’re expecting big things. After spending the last year pounding the pavement on a coast to coast tour across North America, they’ve certainly put in the work.

Now they just need to get their singer to an eye doctor.
