He's also a big fan of Bahamas.

On the basketball court, Blake Griffin plays with a uniquely nimble ferocity; less like a bull in a china shop than a man possessed, one who pirouettes around defenders before demoralizing them with a demonstrative, destructive dunk.

Off the court, though, he’s something else entirely. Aside from that one incident (Clippers fans know the one), he’s seen as a subdued, interesting, and frankly, hilarious dude. He’s done stand-up, made a mostly-nude cameo on Broad City and made Canadian nerds who can’t drive care about car commercials.

But more surprising than that is word that Griffin loves the Lumineers.

“We listen to so much rap, all the time… hip-hop and rap, that I like to mix it up and listen to stuff that’s a little bit more mellow.”

He said as much when he stopped by teammate JJ Reddick’s podcast. When asked what he listens to before games, Griffin was quick to say that goes in the opposite direction of jock-jam pump up music.

“I’m always a big Lumineers fan. Right now it happens to be ‘Ophelia,’” he said to Reddick, who agreed that while he primarily listens to contemporary Christian rock, the Lumineers are one of his favourite bands.

Griffin also big-ups Canadian crooner Bahamas; apparently, he can’t get enough of “Lost in the Light.”
