Cher also said that Hillary Clinton is tougher than Chinese algebra.

Fun fact for those of you whose Cher knowledge stops at “Believe” – the now 70-year-old singer has zero fucks to give and will say anything.

From pretty much every emoji-packed tweet she’s ever sent out to suggesting the governor of Michigan be shot by firing squad in the wake of the Flint water crisis, Cher’s outspokenness has proved to be must-see TV/social media. And so it was only a matter of time before the staunch Hilary Clinton supporter offered some choice words on Donald Trump (beyond using a toilet emoji instead place of his name), and that time came at the ‘Summer Celebration’ Clinton fundraiser in Provincetown, Massachusetts.

The event was the third in a series of LGBTQ fundraisers hosted by Cher, following stops in Miami and New York. She started off by taking some relatively tame shots at Trump, making fun of his awkward use of the term LGBTQ “like he just learned it,” opining that his speeches were akin to “a racist Fun With Dick and Jane” and arguing that his “make America great again” slogan really meant “make America straight and white.” At this point, attendees were probably thinking: “Good for you, Cher – holding back since Hilary is here, and is going to be speaking as well.”

Uh, nope. Cher went on to inform the crowd that she thinks Trump is “a fucking idiot” and that Clinton is “tougher than Chinese algebra,” she then offered up the following nugget:

“I was thinking despots — Stalin, Hitler — even though they said the same things, we’re going to make Germany great again, and it was at a time when the Deutsch mark I think was at 25 cents.”

While these comparisons are nothing new (the internet is awash with both overt and subtle examples), it’s pretty safe to say this would be the first time someone dropped one at a public event with Hilary feet away (and likely thinking “Ah, crap.”)

Cher wanted people to know she did her best to not to make the controversial statement, adding “I was trying not to compare him to Hitler and I was thinking, ‘Who could I do?’ and then I thought: ‘Oh my God, [the eight-year-old, homicidal character Rhoda played by] Patty McCormack from The Bad Seed!'” Hey, she tried.
