The Tragically Hip are seeing their album sales hit new heights in the wake of their nationally-broadcasted performance.

What happens when a long-running, beloved band has their (ostensibly) final show broadcast nationally and 11.7 million people tune in? Well, just ask the Tragically Hip: according to Soundscan data, all 17 of Gord Downie and co.’s albums are now making an appearance on the Billboard Top 200 Canadian Albums chart. Witness the awesome power of great songs and a public broadcaster combined.

In the top spot is greatest-hits comp Yer Favourites, which is currently reigning as the #1 most bought and streamed album in Canada, with a 238% consumption increase from last week. With that, Yer Favourites dethrones both the Suicide Squad soundtrack and Frank Ocean’s Blond as the most bought and streamed album in Canada.

Four other Hip albums are sitting in the top 10, with 1992’s Fully Completely at no. 8, their debut Up To Here at no. 9, and their latest effort Man Machine Poem at no. 6. Total Hip album sales are up 157%, with their digital sales seeing an incredible 342% increase from last week. Yeah, take that, Suicide Squad soundtrack! Here in the True North, it takes a lot more than sexy criminal clowns to take the top spot, it takes a phenomenal musical career topped off with a emotional national celebration.
