Your Bonsly is a wonderland.

John Mayer is out to catch ’em all – no, not every known variety of herpes simplex. The artist formerly known as The Horniest Man In Music has a new addiction, and this time it doesn’t involve oversharing in interviews or counterfeit Rolexes.

The singer-songwriter revealed on his Instagram that he’s spent at least $100 on El-P’s least favourite mobile game sensation, Pokémon Go, putting Mayer in that uber-rare strata of nerd who’s had sex with Jessica Simpson and dropped n-bombs in Playboy.

YES I DO

Doing the math real quick: that means every Pokécoin is worth about, oh, 100% too much money. Of course, any seasoned mobile gamer worth their disposable income knows it’s verboten to let these companies nickle-and-dime you into purchasing in-game currency, but then again the average mobile gamer hasn’t somehow won seven Grammys or joined the Grateful Dead.

Pokémon Go has become one of the most successful mobile apps of all time, and shows no signs of slowing down even though it’s currently only officially available in the U.S., New Zealand, and Australia. Even with all the app’s success, however, there’s no way Mayer isn’t going to be regretting his wasted money once the sheen wears off his Goldeen or whatever.
