Stars will snap their living spaces as part of MTV's renewed focus on music.

If you’ve been paying attention to MTV recently, you may have noticed that they’re re-shifting their focus to (shock!) music.

First off, the recently revitalized MTV News website has made some power moves, hiring on former Pitchfork senior editor Jessica Hopper and Grantland editorial director Dan Fierman, with tons of great writers alongside them.

Second, the network itself has some bona fide music programs in its upcoming roster including a rebooted MTV Unplugged, a live weekly music show, a music competition series from The Voice‘s Mark Burnett, and even something from… Pitbull.

To pay tribute to the April 21st passing of Prince, MTV even replaced its regularly scheduled programming of Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory with a marathon of videos from the Purple One such as “Kiss,” “Let’s Go Crazy,” “Raspberry Beret” and “When Doves Cry.”

Yet MTV‘s most 2016 social media savvy move of all is a revived Cribs, because it’ll be on Snapchat on your smart phone instead of on your TV screen. The new version of the series offering a glimpse into the living spaces of musicians will now feature the subjects filming the footage themselves. They describe the vibe as “intimate.”

When MTV Cribs launches on Snapchat in June with Mac Miller and Austin Mahone, can we expect anything on the level of Lil Wayne’s fridge full of sizzurp supplies, Redman’s cousin Sugar Bear crashed out on the floor, or Missy Elliott’s race car bed?

For Canadian music fans, here’s hoping they give Chad Kroeger a second episode too.
