Memes from the 6.

With Drake’s supremely-anticipated fourth album Views From The 6 due out this Friday (April 29th), the Drake-aligned side of the internet could be forgiven for being a little on-edge with impatience. But then Drizzy had to go ahead and stoke the flames of fire desire by dropping the official artwork, and now the whole Internet has less chill than Fire Marshall Bill.

Of course, it doesn’t help that the album art looks like it took a whole 6 seconds of thought to conceptualize, and 6 minutes to put together in Photoshop. But, hey, I don’t want to oversell it:

Oof. But it’s not the worst thing in the world, even if it doesn’t quite hit the heights of the gold standard, Doin’ Thangs. Lest you think Aubrey’s creative team just hit up GettyImages for Views from The CS6 there, rest assured, the cover is as 416-centric as art comes: the pre-Shopped photos were apparently shot by Caitlin Cronenberg, daughter of Toronto’s favourite purveyor of organic nightmares and head explosions, David Cronenberg.

The art’s pedigree didn’t satisfy a multitude of online Philistines, though, who immediately set to work mocking Super-Drizzy’s Tower of Solitude with their own Photoshop efforts, the best examples of which you can click through above.

At a Toronto Views pop-up yesterday, Drake also let his faithful know that the album will be 20 tracks long:

Sounds promising! As we all know, no 20-track album has ever felt padded.
