The man's 'possible suicide' occurred one day after Apple stock crashed.

The body of a Hispanic male employee was found in a conference room at Apple’s campus headquarters on their 32-acre property in Cupertino, California. Bay Area news outlet AB7 reported via the Santa Clara Sheriff’s Office that his body was discovered with a gun nearby, and that no one else was involved.

An initial report from TMZ citing a police scanner call said the death was a “possible suicide” and that another female employee “involved in an argument” sustained a gunshot wound to the head while being escorted from the premises.

USA Today has quoted Sgt. Andrea Urena, who stated the following: “No one else was involved, there was no danger to the public, there was no foul play. We don’t think (the incident) involved criminal activity.”

In the early morning hours of April 28th, Apple shared the following statement on the employee, whose name and age are being withheld out of consideration for his family and co-workers:

The April 27th incident occurred one day after Apple stock plummeted by over 7%, with a 16% drop in iPhone sales, and revenue falling from $58 billion last year to $50.6 billion in 2016. This is nearly unprecedented for the multinational tech company.
