1999 was a different time with the most hilarious crowd shots ever committed to video.

The time: June 18th, 1999. The place: Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California. The band: pop-punk also-rans Lit, performing their best-known song, “My Own Worst Enemy”. In the immortal, era-appropriate words of one Zack de la Rocha: “What better place than here? What better time than now… to witness some of the absolute most hilarious crowd shots ever committed to videotape?” I think that’s how that song went, anyway.

Thanks to the magic of YouTube, we now have valuable anthropological information on the kind of person that Lit and their ilk brought out to shows in the late ’90s, and it’s… something.
