Kanye's new album also includes troubling lyrics about Taylor Swift.

How was your Thursday? Good? Our Thursday was good too. Idiotsitter was on… What’s that? Was Kanye’s Thursday good/G.O.O.D.? The jury’s still out on that, but it definitely was a busy-ass day for music’s most divisive sweatshirt enthusiast.

Yeezus Christ, where do we start? Let’s see, Kanye turned Madison Square Garden into the site for a double shot of debuts. There was Kanye’s Yeezy Season 3 fashion extravaganza combined with the premiere of his perpetually renamed new LP The Life of Pablo.

Anna Wintour, Jennifer Hudson, her husband David Otunga (PLEASE COME BACK TO REGULAR WWE TV), 2 Chainz, Caitlyn Jenner, assorted Kardashians, and a recovering Lamar Odom are just a few of the glitzy names that were in attendance for this function, although you could just as well stream if you felt inclined to. What can we say? The dude likes holding an Event™.

So what have we learned about The Life of Pablo? (Y’know, aside from the fact it seems fun to play at MSG with a bunch of models keeping busy.) This album certainly isn’t hurting for star power with guest appearances. Rihanna, The Weeknd, Young Thug, Future, Kirk Franklin, Ty Dolla $ign, The-Dream, Kid Cudi, and Frank Ocean (nice to see he’s still with us) have all lent their talents to Kanye’s latest effort.

Oh, also the version heard at the Yeezy Season 3 shindig isn’t the proper finished edition. This morning Kanye noted that he’s added some more tracks to Pablo, released a new one sampling Arthur Russell, and hopes to have the album’s artistry pressed up against our faces later today after it’s mastered.

One line on the new album is raising some eyebrows. Actually, a bunch are, but we’ve pulled back into another round of Taylor/Kanye “WHAT DOES THIS MEAN???” hysteria. On “Famous,” popular recording artist Kanye West offered “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / I made that bitch famous.” That bit of lyricism instantly triggered every red phone at every entertainment news outlet on the planet sparking a scramble to sort out if additional blood is being squeezed out of this turnip.

There seems to be a lot of confusion about whether or not Taylor signed off on the line in advance because 2016 is a complicated time for referencing people as a popular entertainer. A large chunk of Swifties freaked, but TMZ says they spoke with a source that claims Kanye got approval from Taylor before the “Famous” fucking line was locked in.

This was disputed by a Taylor spokesperson who says she did not give her okay, was only contacted to mention the song on her Twitter account, and warned against Kanye releasing a track “with such a strong misogynistic message.” New York Times critic Jon Caramanica helpfully plunked the message on Instagram.

Kanye says the Taylor camp’s denial is bullshit and explained his side of the story on Twitter. He paints a different picture of what went down and took zero shots at Taylor over it. He essentially breaks down why there’s no reason for anyone (including both Taylor and Kim) to have a problem with that chunk of “Famous.” Heck, he says it was Taylor’s idea in the first place.

By the way, Taylor’s brother did not care for his sister getting namechecked on the song. He showed his disapproval by chucking his Yeezy Boosts in the trash. DON’T FUCK WITH AUSTIN SWIFT OR HE’LL THROW YOUR CUSTOM CONSUMER PRODUCTS IN THE GARBAGE! TREMBLE! TREMBLE! TREMBLE!

Can we get to the video game part? Let’s spring ahead to that spot, shall we? Kanye also also also also also (that’s enough of that – Ed.) showed off the trailer for Only One. It’s not a Kim Kardashian: Hollywood type offering (MISSED OPPORTUNITY), but instead a game where… Well, let’s just let Kanye explain it.

“The idea of the game is my mom traveling through the gates of heaven.”

Good to know. Come to think of it, that sounds a little bit like Superman 64. There’s no possible way it could be worse than Superman 64, so we’re convinced this new game will be great. Or at least a must-play creation. Here’s what you’re in store for.
