A mysterious video hints at the release date of 'Views From the 6.'

Drake has always had a sneaky way with numerology.

Way back in summer 2014 he announced the title of his forthcoming album, Views from the 6, coining a nickname for Toronto that may reference the city’s area codes (416 and 647) or the 1998 amalgamation of six different boroughs (Etobicoke, North York, Scarborough, York, East York, and Toronto).

More recently, hip-hop heads have been scratching over a half-baked theory that the album will finally drop on January 6, 2016. Here’s the calculation: Drake’s 4th album + The 1st month + The 6th day = 416.

A lyric from last year’s What A Time To Be Alive standout “30 For 30 Freestyle” where Drake teases “But just know it’ll be January in no time” added even more fuel to the fire.

Then there was a billboard looming over Toronto with the slogan/warning “The 6 is watching” and Drake’s own since-deleted Instagram photo with the caption “Be home soon.”

Finally, a mysterious video posted on the Daily Rap Twitter account may have cemented the release date once and for all:

If all of this makes you feel like Jim Carrey in The Number 23, be forewarned. First it takes hold of your mind. Then it takes over your life.
