'Flatline' is a regressive, paranoid anthem that also touches on Holocaust denial.

We all must’ve done something to appease the gods of Internet Content, because this is a doozy.

Just in case you’ve been disengaged from the Matrix for the past 24 hours or so, here’s a quick recap: Atlanta rapper B.o.B. used Twitter to announce his belief that the Earth is flat.

Astrophysicist/normcore fashion icon Neil deGrasse Tyson then showed up to drop some knowledge and cluck disapprovingly at the scientific literacy of a guy who dropped out of high school in ninth grade. Music and entertainment blogs everywhere hit their traffic goals for the day, and all was right with the world.

But now, B.o.B. has doubled down on the insanity by dropping a new song called “Flatline” on Soundcloud late last night. The song doesn’t just focus on Flat Eartherism; it touches on a multitude of different paranoid conspiracy theories including the Michael Jordan of them all: Holocaust denial. Let’s take a listen.

Huh… that’s interesting, I’ve never seen a song’s Soundcloud art disprove its own hypothesis before. The song, which is actually pretty decently arranged and composed, features allusions to conspiracy theories as wide-ranging as Freemasonry, secret clones, and discredited English historian and holocaust denier David Irving.

Notorious N.D.T. is even sampled at the end, giving a lecture on the shape and movement of the Earth. Interesting tactic, if delegitimizing him is B.o.B.’s goal.

Let’s all hope the Content Gods see fit to bless us with a response diss track from Tyson, featuring rhyming ‘oblate spheroid’ with ‘Dan Ackroyd’ or something.
