Metallica calls Justin Bieber wearing their shirt a 2015 highlight

Complicated feelings today for Metallica fans still burning effigies of Justin Bieber over his fondness for t-shirts from the thrash-metal titans. It turns out Metallica are pretty cool about being included in the Bieb’s wardrobe.

This revelation was, um, revealed courtesy of James Hetfield’s “Top 10 Thingz Of 2015” list that’s currently nestled on the band’s official fan club site. The veteran frontman, who refers to himself as “Papa H” (because who’s going to stop him) ranked Bieber’s shirt homage at the #10 spot of his rundown. Would Shawn Mendes have bumped Bieber out of that spot if he were rocking a Load era hoodie? One can only wonder.

Other highlightz of 2015 for “Papa H” (WE WILL RIDE THIS INTO THE GROUND) include: Family things, gun things, band things, and meeting Robert Plant things.

Offended that Metallica (or at least PAPA H) is giving our pop export a pass? Don’t get too worked up. 1) It’s a man in a band t-shirt. 2) Metallica still say they’re proud of Lulu so their approval of things doesn’t always make it right.
