Someone paid $60,000 for a piano because Miley Cyrus licked it

Turns out people will pay top dollar for the DNA of a quirky pop starlet. Who knew? I think we all did, sadly.

At a recent charity auction held at the LGBT Center near Los Angeles, Miley Cyrus was honoured for her work with her Happy Hippie nonprofit foundation for homeless LBGTQ youth. She then stuck around to help auction off a signed white piano with a little help from Linda Perry. Prospective piano owners had a little extra incentive to bid: the piano had just been licked by the former Hannah Montana herself. That’s what’s known in the auction biz as “paving the lot”… or if it isn’t, it should be.

The gambit worked: the piano ended up going for £33,000, which comes out to about $66,000 CAD. The next time you’re looking to get some extra ducats from that old Casio at your garage sale, you know what you must do (note: requires access to world-famous pop star). One can only guess what the instruments, microphones and stage props will fetch on the open market after her nude show with the Flaming Lips.
