Concertgoers were left in the cold with multiple alleged thefts following a coat check melee.

This weekend’s Toronto appearance from English electronic duo Disclosure ended on a disastrous note.

With more than 8,000 concertgoers jammed into the Enercare Centre, a wildly understaffed area saw an unruly mob storming the gates for a total free-for-all resulting in multiple alleged thefts (on one of the coldest nights of the year so far). As the roaring crowd aired their obvious displeasure, it seems that the six staff members working the coat check, police, and security guards sadly failed to step up and take action. An angry attendee named Melanie Langevine edited together a six-minute cellphone video of the unmitigated disaster:

Of course, Langevine is not the only one enraged by this occurrence. Countless complaints and theft reports were initially posted to the Disclosure Facebook event page before Embrace Presents took swift action and pulled it down. Similar comments are now filling the feed of the promoter’s page. Embrace have responded with the following stock statement:

We’re very sorry about the coat check situation. Anyone with a missing coat, please contact info@coatconnexion.ca. Please include a photo of the coat check ticket as well as a description of the coat.

A Reddit thread has since become the hub for the coat check disaster with stories of stolen belongings including expensive jackets, medicine, jewelry, and even a Canadian passport. Others have shared vivid stories of people lining up to pee in a corner of the room due to a lack of available toilets. Chaos reigns.
