No.

Hey, I’ll admit it. Christmas isn’t really my jam. I may not be a full on Scrooge with the “Bah Humbugs” and what not, but I could take it or leave it.

Still, I’ve come to terms with the fact that on the morning of November 1st, every retailer and media house is going to toss all that super-spooky Halloween stuff they’ve been pushing like their life depended on it out on its ass and start reminding us “it’s the most wonderful time of the year.” (Damn, maybe I am a full on Scrooge). However, we gotta have limits – something it seems nobody’s told Birmingham, Alabama radio station 100.1 FM. The station made the ballsy decision to switch to commercial free, uninterrupted holiday tunes on the decidedly un-Christmas-y date of September 25.

I do appreciate their “you brought this on yourselves” stance on the matter though – this from program director John Olsen: “We understand it’s early for Christmas music, but if the stores have decorations out we figured some folks might be ready.” And he’s probably right, although to me it feels more like an early sign of the end of days.
