Underage fans were unable to attend but the band still came outside for an extended hang.

San Diego deathgrind band Cattle Decapitation proved their dedication to the kids following an unfortunate incident at their Toronto tour stop. Reddit user Serothrine16 claims that tickets for the group’s September 27 show at Hard Luck Bar advertised the event as all-ages friendly, but when he and other underage fans arrived they were promptly turned around at the door.

So tonight i went to see the Cattle Decapitation show tonight in Toronto. When i got there i was told by the security guard despite the fact when i bought my ticket it said the show was all ages it was now 19+, i was pretty pissed. There was a group of people all rejected for the same reason so i stood around with them talking when suddenly Travis Ryan comes out of the building and asks us whats going on. We explain the situation and he gets visibly pissed. He says hes going to talk the owner and he goes back inside hopefully to unleash fury upon this guy. When he comes back he looks even more pissed and says he tried to get us in but there was nothing he could do. To make up for it he sold all us underagers merch directly out of the van and took pictures with us. Good to know that he fought for our right to stay brutal \m/ and i now kno firsthand that he is one of the nicest dudes.

EDIT: Didn’t mention in my original post but Josh was also out there talking to fans. Also a cool dude. Fuck it they are all cool dudes.

Cattle Decapitation later posted the following photo with some underage ragers on their Facebook page.

Though the guy in the backwards cap looks like he was having a blast, the band still mentions their intent to remedy the situation next time they’re in town.

“Very humbled yet disheartened at the same time to see fans unable to make it into the show due to age restrictions at tonight’s sold out show in Toronto. Sorry guys, hopefully next time it will be all ages.”

UPDATE: Inertia Entertainment, who put on the show, told us in an email that “All forms of advertising listed the event as 19+,” though in an unfortunate oversight in this case, the tickets weren’t clear. “Normally when a show is all ages it is clarified on the ticket…there were people who did ‘question’ and sent emails in advance seeking clarification, which were replied to. [This] is an unfortunate situation for the few, and we will ensure in the future that it is definitively written 19+ on the tickets as well to avoid further confusion or inconvenience.”
