The notorious boozehound was rushed to the hospital after crashing to the ground.

The Irish Mirror has reported that Pogues frontman Shane McGowan recently fractured his pelvis in the midst of some elaborate rug cutting. No information has surfaced on whether it was a jig, headspin, or simply holding himself up with a microphone.

Virginia Mary Clarke, partner of the legendarily soused singer, shared the news of MacGowan’s injury on Twitter, but assured fans that the 57-year-old musician will be shipshape in not time. She also called him “cranky” and offered up the source of his hospital trip that was quickly spun into headline gold.

The Pogues have no upcoming performances scheduled, with recent sightings of the frontman walking with a limp sparking fears among fans. Back in July, MacGowan joined The Libertines on stage, yet Pete Doherty was disappointed to later look over and see the singer in his natural state. Doherty told the crowd: “I was so thrilled to hear earlier in the day that Shane MacGowan was coming down to watch us, but I just looked over at him and he looked to have fallen asleep.”
