The Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist maintains an apiary with 200,000 stingy residents.

Flea is no stranger to the odd hobby here and there, but his latest ought to have fans buzzing.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist reportedly keeps over 200,000 bees in his backyard apiary, with the aim of adding some honey to all the jars of Blood Sugar Sex Magik everywhere helping out the declining honeybee population. Flea’s Instagram is full of snapshots of his fine furry friends, with captions like “Pleezus more beezus” and “Me about to get busy with my beautiful little bees that I love”.

Hmmm, will someone check on Flea? Sounds like all that venom from hundreds of bee stings is affecting his brain.
