Nice try, hip Alberta politicians!

To highlight their “Building Alberta Together” partnership, Premier Rachel Notley, Edmonton mayor Don Iveson, and Calgary mayor Naheed Nenshi got t-shirts made up that used the Nine Inch Nails ‘NIN’ symbol as a gag relating to their last names’ initials. Well, all the commenters that assured the three that NIN frontman Trent Reznor would be suing their asses in short order are having a sweet day of “I told you so” action: apparently Reznor and his people were not amused and shut that shirt down real quick.

In a CBC interview, Iveson was hesitant to go into details, but when prodded had this to say: “We got advice that there were some concerns about the trademark and essentially to cease and desist.” The dude wouldn’t even admit to owning one of the shirts (unlike the other two, he’s never been pictured with one) dropping the old “On the advice of my attorney, I can’t comment.”
