The 10 and 11-year-olds have the chops of a band six times their age.

Led Zeppelin’s Robert Plant gave an upcoming group a bit of a leg-up with an opening slot at England’s Forrest Live festival. That band is Y Storm, a plucky gang of 10 and 11-year-olds from Welsh elementary Ysgol OM Edwards.

Of course there’s a nepotistic element to this heartwarming story, as two of Y Storm’s members are the children of Liam Tyson, guitarist in Plant’s current group The Sensational Space Shifters. However, the Led Zep frontman has followed the kiddie band’s progress closely, including a previous performance at one of Europe’s biggest youth festivals, the Urdd Eisteddfod.

Y Storm took the stage on Saturday to an outdoor crowd of 10,000 people, performing songs in English and Welsh with the poise of a band seven times their age. Check out some photos of the future superstars getting psyched up offstage as well as their shades-clad cover of “Johnny B Goode.”
