There was a satisfying amount of Bob Seger talk, 'natch.

Did you catch the latest episode of Only In Monroe? What do you mean you’ve never heard of Only In Monroe? Um, it’s only one of the crown jewels of Monroe, Michigan’s public access cable channel, y’know.

If you happened to watch the latest instalment of the program, you would have seen the back-to-beardless Stephen Colbert serving as guest host and taking the show for a spin with Colbert-ian flair. It was an exciting 40 minutes with nails being painted, hard-hitting analysis on a “vicious internet flame war” concerning Mark M.’s scathing Yelp review of Jerry’s Frenchtown Bar & Grill and there was even a bit of time devoted to an interview with Eminem.

Yes, that Eminem.

Colbert and Em engaged in a delightful and incredibly surreal 20 minute chat that included topics like Bob Seger, Will Smith, and the epidemic of foul language in hip-hop. Marshall even lends a hand with the community calendar because he’s an upstanding gent and also because the teleprompter encouraged him to. Watch the full episode below and skip ahead to the 22-minute mark for the Eminem interview antics.

Provided Colbert chooses not to blow off The Late Show for a full-time job as Only In Monroe‘s substitute host, you can catch his CBS debut on September 8.
