The five finger discount on this piece of pop music history starts at a cool $20k.

A glove that touched millions worldwide is… actually, let me start again. One of Michael Jackson’s famous white sequined gloves could soon be yours to own, provided you can beat out a throng of other ultra-rich MJ fanatics at an upcoming auction in Los Angeles.

The iconic glove is set to be auctioned off July 30th by auction house Nate D. Sanders, with bidding beginning at a cool $20,000. What a steal!

Don’t expect it to remain at such a bargain-basement price point, however: Previous gloves have gone for a reasonable $160k (for a random no name glove) and an extravagant $350k (for the one that Jackson was wearing when he debuted the Moonwalk). So any MJ fans reading this are probably out of luck, unless you happen to be a venture capitalist, hedge fund manager or successful tech entrepreneur.

The glove in question was gifted to artist Paul Bedard by the Jackson himself, after Bedard created several paintings depicting famous historical figures wearing the King of Pop’s trademark shades and glove. Whoever wins the bid will get a certificate of authenticity signed by Bedard, and images of the paintings. Whoa, pictures of paintings of cultural icons? Now I see the value!

The auction also includes a prototype “Bad” jacket, for which bidding starts at $10,000. You too could parade around in the iconic black heavy denim jacket that MJ himself took a look at and said “Yeah, this is pretty close but can we change a few things before the shoot? Ee-hee-hee.”
