Mac DeMarco wants you to come over for coffee

Are you and your go-to barista on the rocks? Had enough of being attacked by packs of stray dogs at Coffee Time? In the mood to share your cup a joe with a dude with a horrifying Michael Jackson mask? Don’t worry! Mac DeMarco is here to help.

The Canuck turned New York tune vendor is welcoming fans to come to his Far Rockaway home to pop in for a coffee. The invitation appears at the end of his upcoming mini-LP Another One, complete with the necessary address details. According to trusted DeMarco-focused news outlet The Wall Street Journal, about 30 fans have already made the trek. How do you get there? Well, it’s “more than two hours to reach his ‘kind of sketchy’ neighbourhood in Far Rockaway, at the end of a subway line, on the edge of a bay overlooking JFK Airport.”

DeMarco says he’s cool with strangers taking him up on the offer.

“The way I rationalize it, to have the address you’ll have to listen to the album to the very end,” he explains. “Second, to even consider coming to my house you have to be kind of a superfan. And thirdly, it’s in such a weird part of New York that if they actually get there, they deserve a cup of coffee.”

Presumably the bathrooms at Cafe DeMarco are for customers only.
