Who starts a circle pit under the sea? SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS!
Unfairly lost in the shuffle during all the March hoopla over new releases from Kendrick Lamar, Madonna, and Kelly Clarkson was a magical new release from the planet’s foremost purveyors of spongecore.
xSPONGECOREx cranked out a lil’ thing called Bold and Thrash which combines goofy hardcore and “vocals” from the beloved kids TV show. If you like exciting guest appearances (what monster doesn’t?) you’ll be thrilled to learn that Helga Pataki of Hey Arnold! fame took time out of her busy schedule to guest on the butt-kicking anthem “F.L.A.T.S.” That’s some winning Nickelodeon synergy, right there.
Other tracks from this New York/Bikini Bottom outfit include “Look At It,” “Boating School Blues” and “Great Barrier Reef.” They can all be yours if you (sea)pony up $1 on Bandcamp. Enjoy a taste below.
