The first rule of the Fight Club rock opera is: You do not talk about the Fight Club rock opera.

We never thought it was possible, but something’s happening that could make Fight Club even more dorm room friendly. That’s right, a Fight Club rock opera is possibly on its way.

Jeff Goldsmith (of The Q&A with Jeff Goldsmith podcast) tweeted that Chuck Palahniuk, David Fincher and Trent Reznor have paired up for the project. It was billed by Goldsmith as “an enhanced version of the film!”

This tweet (that has likely either intrigued or horrified you) seems to mostly sync up with Palahniuk’s tweet from a few days back indicating that Fincher and Julie Taymor were working together on the Fight Club rock opera thing. The Taymor-mentioning tweet from the author has since been deleted, so it’s not quite clear if she’s (still?) involved in this possible project or if she was properly attached to begin with.

The important thing is getting Meat Loaf onboard. If there’s no Meat Loaf this thing is a sham. A SHAM!
