A scene will feature "Mayor Drake Ford" interacting with a drug dealer.

Years of hoping, wishing and praying have finally come to fruition: it appears that Drake will be portraying former mayor Rob Ford in the video for If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late standout “Energy,” according to a casting call put out back in April.

Going by the casting call put out by Revolver Films, the music video will feature a scene of “Mayor Drake Ford” in a parking garage, interacting with a drug dealer. The announcement also calls for a Rob Ford body double, on whose body Drake’s face will presumably be superimposed, or at least that’s really what we hope. Damn, that’s the gig of a lifetime!

Two days ago, Drake posted a preview of the video on Instagram, but said only that it would be “coming soon.” The casting call notes the shoot happened back in May, so it should be soon. Better hurry up, Rob Ford’s cultural relevance is rapidly decaying.

To those who doubted this day would ever come, to those standing on the wrong side of history: Deal with it. “A system of hip-hop that makes a track subordinate to a video of Drake portraying a has-been crack-smoking mayor does not deserve to be called a hot track.” – Antonin Scalia. Whatever, crybaby!
