He was trying to avoid extra luggage charges.

For anyone living outside of Scotland, this article may be your introduction to James, Jack, Connor, Kieran, and Wredd (OH, WREDD *SWOON*) a.k.a. the members of teenage boyband Rewind.

We must admit we don’t know much about them either, other than their shiny hair and stout brogue accents revealed in the intro to their ill-considered Robin Thicke/Prince mash-up cover. According to a reputable source at Sugarscape.com they sound like “One Direction, The Vamps and 5 Seconds of Summer in a blender with a deep fried Mars Bar.” Sounds about right.

So why are we writing about Rewind? Well… 19-year-old member James McElvar is now making headlines for another ill-considered move while boarding a flight to his hometown of Glasgow. Faced with an extra charge of £45 for carrying on too many pieces of baggage, the singer made me the obvious decision to pop on 12 layers of his clothing including six t-shirts, five jumpers, three pairs of jeans, two sweat pants, two jackets, and two hats.

It’s a shame no one thought to to post this glorious outfit on Instagram, but the story then took a dark turn. According to a slightly more reputable source at the NME, he “became violently ill and suffered a fit” with “an off-duty paramedic treat[ing] him as passengers looked on.”

McElvar is now chilling in a Glasgow hospital bed and is expected to make a full recovery while sending his love to fans. Wredd could not be reached for comment.
