For the inked among us, many of us have considered getting a band tattoo. So, we’ve all considered the logistics of it: Will you actually love that pop-punk band forever? Will you decide to get a tattoo from an active band, with the possibility that they may, in fact, disappoint you? (We feel for Weezer fans who got tattoos after Pinkerton.) Will you risk getting a clichéd tattoo, one shared with legions of other fans?

A clichéd tattoo, as those with CKY and ZOSO tats can attest, can be terrible. But it’d be even worse having a Lostprophets tattoo, as many surely do. The British post-hardcore band, after all, were one of the most popular bands among Alternative Press-reading types, until, of course, it was revealed that singer Ian Watkins was a pedophile monster, and one who was sentenced 35 years for his crimes.

So yes, if you have Lostprophets ink, you’d be mortified. And Ellia Beasley—who owns a British name if we’ve ever heard one—was among the mortified, as she had lyrics from Lostprophets “Rooftops” tattooed on the bottom of her stomach.

Here was Beasley’s tattoo, which she got as a teenager.

Beasley, for her part, says he got the ink months before she learned that Watkins attempted to rape a fan’s baby. And the tattoo was unfortunate: It’s bold, black script, which would be difficult to cover up. Furthermore, the aspiring model says that she couldn’t afford laser tattoo removal.

So, the only solution? A bold cover-up. She contacted Kevin Paul, an artists who, according to the Daily Mail, has tattooed Ed Sheeran and Harry Styles, who conjured up an idea for an owl. The only problem? It’s a huge tattoo, and one that extends down her pelvis.

And those are very, very painful regions to get tattooed. It took more than 10 hours, she says, and was “horrifically painful.” We believe her.

But the outcome was much, much better than having a Lostprophets tattoo on your body. [H/T The Daily Mail]
