By now, there’s no disputing that Nickelback are the Eagles of modern rock. After all, listening to Kroeger and co. can get you detained in Idaho, stalked by pick-up artists, studied by scientists who are convinced of your stupidity, and unfriended on Facebook. But on the flipside, hating Nickelback is probably the closest thing that music fans—at least in 2015—have to consensus.

But anti-Nickelback sentiment wasn’t created equally. A study created by AccuRadio set out, then, to determine who hates—and on the flipside, loves—Nickelback the most, and using their proprietary data, were able to measure each state’s sentiment on Kroeger and co. The states that loved them the most? Nevada, Wyoming, and Alaska. The states that hated them the most? Rhode Island, Hawaii—where, quite awkwardly, Mike Kroeger currently lives—and Vermont.

So: If it’s a Nickelback-free oasis ye seek, head to Rhode Island. (The northeast also fared well in their disdain for the ‘Back, with Connecticut, New York, and Massachussetts all ranking in the top-10 Kroeger-hating states.)
