The drama between the members of Blink-182 is heating up, which is a fire-y way of saying that each of the three members involved have been quietly issuing statements and taking interviews entirely separate from one another.

But while Tom DeLonge is bitterly releasing demos and ruminating on alien life, and while Mark Hoppus is mostly covering his ass in legalese, walking neck tattoo Travis Barker has come out and put it plainly as can be: Tom DeLonge has got to go.

I think the right thing for him to do would [be to] just man up and quit the band instead of telling people he didn’t quit and just be real with the fans.

Fair. For anyone who’s been paying attention, it’s been obvious that Tom DeLonge hasn’t been all in on Blink-182 for a while. And in his interview with Alternative Nation, Barker seems to be mostly looking out for his old friend, especially when he says that quitting would “give him some closure” and allow him to focus on something he’s passionate about — whether that’s finding aliens, hiding from aliens or having sex with aliens.

But because it wouldn’t be a feud if everyone wasn’t acting at least a little bitchy, Barker went onto call DeLonge a total poseur. After reiterating that “dude, punk rock totally changed his life,” Barker dropped a nugget that changes everything.

I think for Tom, he doesn’t like punk music and it was a phase for him.

And that, like a sailor tattoo of a dagger to the heart, has got to sting.
