In 2015, Canada’s festival count is an embarrassment of riches. Ontario newcomers Bestival and WayHome are huge new additions to Osheaga, Pemberton, TURF, Hillside and RiotFest, and those only make up a small fraction of them. They go largely without incident—a somewhat surprising feat, considering factors like crowd sizes and intoxicants.
But when things do go wrong, it can get bad, fast. Ugly weather, mob mentality, overpriced food and water, poorly assembled stages – it only takes one to go from best weekend ever to an unforgettable tragedy. Check out some of the worst festival occurrences above.
