We consider people who steal from musicians a special kind of scum, which is why regardless of who it involves, we’re always ecstatic to read about a reunion between artist and instrument. And this latest feel good story spans decades: In 1995, Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood’s Ebony Frost Fender Telecaster Plus was taken after a show in Denver.

That was that, until recently — someone spotted the guitar and, with the help of Radiohead fan site The King of Gear, got in touch with Greenwood’s guitar tech.

Greenwood got to play his old guitar this weekend while playing in Oxford with Contemporary Orchestra Soloists. It’s the same guitar he used during The Bends-era; in the nearly 20 years since, Greenwood’s released six albums with Radiohead, including classics OK Computer and Kid A, and worked on soundtracks and scores for three Paul Thomas Anderson movies.

When he still had this guitar, Thom Yorke looked like this:

So yeah, it’s a reunion that’s long been in the works. [h/t Consequence of Sound]
