In spite of how straight-up dead he is, Michael Jackson’s name continues to be dragged through the mud by the controversies he was so unfortunately attracted to throughout his life.

You know what we’re talking about.

But let this be a reminder if not: According to Page Six, one of the potential buyers of Jackson’s famed Neverland Ranch has aspirations to turn it into a rehabilitation centre for sexually abused children.

“His goal is for the place to be used to help children in a serene setting recover from the trauma of sex abuse,” said a source to the Daily Mail.

The plan is to have children come there for treatment, and they will also hire trained therapists who would help the victims through the use of equine-assisted therapy, which works to improve the kids’ self-esteem, and it helps them to become more outgoing.

The would-be bidder remains unnamed, but is reportedly offering $40 million for the property, the land for which Jackson bought for a rumoured $30 million back in 1988. The converted amusement park has gone through countless financial challenges since Jackson’s death in 2009; one year prior to his death, it was seized and foreclosed upon and expected to sell for as much as $75 million.

Today, Jackson’s estate retains partial control of the property.
