Insomniacs rejoice! The gods of slumber have blessed us with our wildest dream come true. No, it isn’t a bed made of clouds, but it’s something even better. That’s right, Big Lebowski and Crazy Heart star Jeff Bridges has lent his soothing pipes to an ambient album made expressly to put you to sleep. Try to contain yourself, or you’ll never drift off!

Recorded with True Detective/The Fall composer Keefus Ciancia, Jeff Bridges Sleeping Tapes is chock full of all your fave sleep-inducing elements: low drones, wintery swooshes, field recordings of people walking. They’re all here, and they’re topped off with musings and reveries from the Dude himself. Released as a partnership with Squarespace, you can name your own price and download the album here.

If an entire album’s worth of lilting piano, ambient soundscapes, and audio tours of a canyon doesn’t sound as exciting as say, Reign In Blood, keep in mind that 100 per cent of the proceeds are going to Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign, which aims to end child hunger in America. All in all, a pretty unique and worthy project.

The only downside? They didn’t go with the original title, The Dude Abeds.
