Check out our “Trending” Playlist for this week. Put on the player and read a bit about each song below.

1. ”Me, Liquor & God” by Night Beds

What else do you need really? Here’s Colorado singer Winston Yellen (aka Night Beds) with a track off his upcoming new album. “Me, Liquor & God” has Yellen taking a more electronic approach to his signature haunting folk songs, like if Justin Vernon and Ryan Hemsworth sat down together for a weekend.

2. ”Song To The Siren” by Amen Dunes (Tim Buckley Cover)

Amen Dunes takes on a classic song here, covering Tim Buckley’s “Song To The Siren.” Earlier this year, Damon McMahon (known as Amen Dunes) released an album called “Love” (via Sacred Bones), taking a year and a half to create it, featuring 16 musicians, over 5 studios. Although, there were some songs that didn’t make the cut, so the Cowboy Worship EP was born, featuring this great rendition.

3. ”Turn Me Up” by Twin Shadow

Honestly, I wasn’t hooked on this song until I heard the chorus. This is Twin Shadow’s latest “Turn Me Up,” which recently appeared on his Soundcloud page. It’s hard to know if this track will appear on his major label debut next year, but it’s online now, so take a spin.

4. ”Careless” by Alex Winston

It was perfect timing for a new Alex Winston song. Just as I started to wonder where she was at in putting out some new music, “Careless” appeared and has got my excited for her upcoming sophomore album, slated for release this spring via 300 Entertainment.

5. ”Take You Out” by The Pass

This song is the musical opposite of what I’m staring at right now. I’m set up in my living room facing the window, watching everyone outside barely managing this dump of snow we got yesterday. When I hear “Take You Out,” I picture a setting that’s a little sunnier, bright, and fun, don’t you? This track is the latest from Louisville, Kentucky band The Pass, off an EP called “High Road” (out Dec 9th. via SonaBlast! Records).

6. “I’ll Be Stoned For Christmas” by Dent May

This time of year, I’m innandated with requests to post Christmas covers on my blog and typically I’ve just avoided including any of them. Until today that is, as I’m considering putting up “I’ll Be Stoned For Christmas” by Dent May. My kind of Holiday tune.

7. ”Beggin for Thread” by BANKS

Los Angeles vocalist BANKS has had a tremendous year. It seems like every week I’ve gone on to the Hype Machine to make these playlists, I’ve always found a BANKS song, cover or remix in the top 50. It’s no surprise that the blog search engine recently listed her as the #1 most popular artist of 2014.

8. ”Stay Forever” by PANAMA

Of course a band called Panama is from Australia. Apparently though, international locations (other than ones you’re from) is the new trend for band names. Listening to their track though, I might have guessed Australia before I checked, as I’ve said it many times already, there’s so much great music coming out from down under.

9. “Entail” by VIMES.

It’s been over a year since I’ve featured Cologne-based electronic duo VIMES in a Track Of The Week Post. Glad to have them back, ending this week’s Trending Playlist with their newest track “Entail.”
