We were really worried about Macaulay Culkin for a minute there. Then The Pizza Underground happened and we realized that in spite of the hoaxes and rumours, Culkin wasn’t living on the streets or binging himself to the literal brink of death—he’s just become a total fucking weirdo.
But over the weekend we learned that his pizza-themed Velvet Underground band, one which seems him heroically don the triangle, was just the tip of the iceberg, and according to the AVClub, he’s moved onto Billy Joel. This time around, however, pizza’s been thrown to the wayside for the internet’s other favourite thing: Cats.
Culkin apparently told a Pizza Underground crowd that his next project will be called Pussy Joel, a kitten-cuddling cover band presumably set to hack a hairball over the Piano Man’s classics.
There’s the sense it could be a joke, but Culkin’s hinted at moving beyond pepperoni proto-punk before, and at this point can we really put anything past the guy?
