James Blunt's record label asked him to stop being so awesome on Twitter

The thing about James Blunt is that he’s awesome. Maybe you think “You’re Beautiful” was a wishy-washy mess. Cool. James Blunt apologized for it; Craig David still hasn’t said sorry for “7 Days.”

And if you visit his Twitter, you’ll quickly realize that Blunt is a dude who lives to keep it real. So real, in fact, that his label has reportedly asked him to cut it out.

According to Fast Company, Blunt’s label created his Twitter account so he could keep his fans updated, but over the years his timeline has transformed less to be about tour dates and public appearances than self-deprecating jokes and comebacks to his detractors.

Apparently, Atlantic Records didn’t like that and reportedly asked him to stop right after they created the account… in 2009.

He has’t stopped, and we’re really happy about that. Here’s why:
