Here are our favourite Canadian albums from 2014

December 23, 2014
With each passing year, the line between “best Canadian music” and “best music period” blurs. After all, in 2014, many bands incubated north of the border go onto success well beyond Canada—to wit, many of our favourite Canadian releases earned releases from international labels. (Although, it should be noted, a number of our favourites came via tiny, D.I.Y. imprints—or were flat-out self-released.) So, we polled a crack squad of AUX writers and editors—namely, Josiah Hughes, Jesse Locke, Ryan McNutt, Jeremy Mersereau, Tyler Munro, Mark Teo, Nicole Villeneuve, and Aaron Zorgel—to name their favourite Canadian releases. Above, a non-alphebetical, non-ranked list of this year’s best.
