For a song so fast moving, Darude’s “Sandstorm” is a song that refuses to go away. Crazier still, it’s climbing the charts again, fifteen years after its initial release.
Beatport are chalking the song’s spike in popularity up to its never-ending use at dance festivals. When Peking Duk played it at the Stereosonic tour, the crowd straight up exploded.
See?
As a result, the song has catapulted back onto the iTunes dance charts, popping off higher than songs by Skrillex and Avicii. Now imagine if they put it in the new Fast & Furious movie?
