We can't tell if AC/DC's new video is incredible or not

One of the reasons we love AC/DC is because they’re like a McDonald’s meal: No matter when or where you pick one up, they’re remarkably consistent. Sure, Highway to Hell or Back in Black are considered the band’s classics, but have you picked up Stiff Upper Lip? Or Black Ice? They’re not much worse—because they sound just like classic AC/DC.

Indeed, AC/DC sticks to a formula, and that applies their music videos, too. Typically, they stick to what we’ve seen in “Thunderstruck”: Usually, it involves AC/DC playing a larger-than-life stage. Angus Young does his shuffle dance. Add some testosterone-fuelled fist-pumping, blasting foglights, and, in the case of “Let There Be Rock,” religious imagery, and voila! Instant AC/DC video.

Still, it seems like AC/DC’s hit some harder times with their latest video, “Play Ball.” Yes, it’s a classic AC/DC video, but instead of playing on a giant stage, they’re playing on a giant green screen. And when you give Malcolm and Angus the endless possibilities of CGI, they’ll… surprise you. With images of nuns playing kickball. And oiled-up women playing indoor football. And elephants dunking. And barely clothed soccer babes slide tackling. Best of all, it’s done marvelously sloppily, compiling sleazy stock footage with absolutely horrendous editing.

It’s best witnessed. Check our fave highlights above, or the video in full below.
