Golden Girls was more than a sitcom about four sassy ladies living for themselves—ultimately, it was about friendship. And do you know how we know that? Because its theme song told us so. Unfortunately, Cynthia Fee’s “Thank You For Being A Friend” is so dated these days, which is where K. John Stewart’s Will It Metal? comes in.

In his latest video, he runs the show’s opening song through “the ol’ Metalmobile,” and the results are surprisingly fantastic, essentially turning the classic-cut into an Unearth song. Did he need to dress up like an old cougar in the cover’s accompanying video? No, probably not. But he did, because sometimes to do something right, you’ve got to do it all the way.
