Long before the Smiths-Peanuts mashup (and certainly before Morrissey was calling Canadian fashionably dead barbarians), cartoonist Brian Brooks was mocking the quiff-coiffed crooner with his now-classic series, Morrissey Gets A Job. Stretching back to 1999, Brooks, the illustrator / author behind Emily Strange, developed the hilarious strip around Moz’s morose, often overdramatic lyrics—only he applied them to Dilbert-esque vignettes about hack office work. The horror! Check the strip above, and hat-tip to Dangerous Minds for reminding us about the strip.
