There are a number of things you can do to keep your records healthy, but sometimes storing your vinyl properly and keeping your turntable tuned just isn’t enough. Sometimes, an album gets past that point of no return.

From there, you have a few options:

1. Throw it in the trash.
2. Put it on display.

For that second choice, there are countless ways to do it. Maybe you toss it in the oven and make a possibly toxic bowl. Maybe you put the entire thing, jacket included, into a frame. That’s certainly the safest, best looking option.

But Etsy artist Corey V. has a third alternative. He turns them into clocks. Not like you’ve probably seen, either, since he’s not just tacking on a timekeeper, but carving the vinyl itself into something truly unique.

We first came across his work when a series of video game inspired clocks he’d made popped up on Reddit, but a quick scan of his store shows a portfolio far cooler than a bunch of Pokémon clocks would first suggest.

From comic books to music, with films, video games and sports thrown in, too, Corey’s work is a masterclass in vinyl gore. In the gallery up top, we explore some of our favourites.
