Fast approaching their 20th year together, California ska-punks the Mad Caddies have stayed steady skanking through countless trends and fads. And through it all, they’ve stayed consistent, drumming to their own unique blend, a mix of hook-heavy pop punk, reggae, jazz and everything in between. Dirty Rice, their first album since 2007’s Keep it Going came out earlier this year and makes a legitimate argument towards being the band’s best yet.

“Down and Out,” the lyric video for which we’re happy to be premiering up top, is a strong indication of why. With its rolling piano and horns, the track has the kind of swaying groove that’s had fans hooked since the mid-90s. It’s catchy, but uncompromising.

Dirty Rice is out now through Fat Wreck Chords.
