Fans of Johnny Cash are surely aware of John Carter Cash, the late country legend’s only son with June Carter Cash. The younger Cash, after all, has a singing career of his own: He didn’t possess the distinctively deep vocals of his father, but his last album, The Family Secret, was a serviceable (if a tad forgettable) exercise in folk, country, and hard rock. He also differed from his father in interests—the he’s an outdoorsman, and he has a well-established love of hunting and fishing, even raising deer at his remote studio, the Cash Cabin.

Cash’s love of fishing, naturally, has led him to Canada—and that’s why he was in western Newfoundland. Where, yesterday afternoon, he was arrested for disturbing the peace.

So, what happened? According to the Deer Lake RCMP, they received a call at 2:10 p.m. about a man who’d stripped down to his underwear at the airport. Cash was then convinced to put his clothes on before the police arrived. After being arrested, authorities said the Cash was either drunk or had medical issues.

He was then taken to a police station, where he’d remain until he sobered up. As Cash was cooperative with the police—and the situation seemed isolated, and he had no prior arrests—no charges were laid. Meanwhile, the younger Cash isn’t only getting drunk and naked in public—he’s also an author, who released a children’s book, titled Lupus Rex, last year.
