Music fans: We get it. Sometimes, you want to dress up like your favourite musician, and for many of us, our favourite band is Nirvana. So, what In Utero-themed costumes can we daydream? A sexy Pat Smear get-up? Perhaps a zombie Steve Albini? Floyd the Barber? Or will you settle on the most obvious costume—namely, Kurt Cobain?

If you’re choosing to go as Kurdt this Halloween, as many surely will, we’ve put together a handy guide on how not to dress like the late guitarist. Not all of us can pull off a Samhain get-up as well as P.K. Subban, but hey, you can at least get your Kurt Cobain wig game straight.
