Erotic One Direction fan fiction nets author six-figure book deal

Harry Styles is one of the cherubic studs behind the money-making machine that is One Direction. He’s the subject of as many as five new Taylor Swift songs, but at least one for sure. And, according to Rolling Stone, he’s the inspiration behind an epic (read: long) series of upcoming erotic fiction.

Written by Anna Todd, After began last year as One Direction fan fiction, telling the story of, to quote Rolling Stone, “a college freshman who falls for and has kinky times with a guy named Harry Styles,” but in the year since has grown from a couple of chapters into a 2,500 page tome.

And like Shades of Grey before it, a franchise that began as Twilight fan fiction that quickly morphed into softcore for soccer moms, Todd’s story caught the eyes of publishers. Simon and Shuster’s Gallery Books imprint have reportedly tossed a six-figure deal her way to take the story to legitimate levels.

Naturally, she can no longer call her protagonist Harry Styles, and as such, she has reportedly changed his name to a much more suggestive Hardin Scott, and while One Direction fans are pissed about it—and what aren’t they mad about—her story, the original of which has seen more than a billion clicks, is reportedly already on its way to the big screen thanks to Paramount Pictures.

As for the book itself, look for it to come out in four chunks, presumably monthly, starting this November.
